Broadway veteran Matt Scott (Jersey Boys) will join the cast of Goodspeed Musicals' A Wonderful Life for its extended run at Goodspeed Opera House. Scott begins performances November 3, taking over for Josh Franklin in the role of Sam Wainwright through December 6. Franklin will exit the production to resume work on a new musical.

A Wonderful Life is Sheldon Harnick and Joe Raposo's musical reimagining of the Frank Capra film It's a Wonderful Life. Directed by Michael Perlman, the story finds a would-be angel swooping to the rescue of desperate banker George Bailey on Christmas Eve.

Scott was last seen by Goodspeed audiences in the 2013 production of Snapshots at the Norma Terris Theatre. His Broadway credits include Jersey Boys, A Catered Affair, and Sondheim on Sondheim. The company of A Wonderful Life also features Duke Lafoon (George Bailey), Logan James Hall (Harry Bailey), Ed Dixon (Mr. Potter), Frank Vlastnik (Clarence Johnson), Bethe B. Austin (Mrs. Martini/Milly Bailey), Ryan G. Dunkin (Ernie), Michael Medeiros (Uncle Billy), Kirsten Scott (Mary Hatch), George McDaniel (Matthew/Tom/Mr. Martini), Kevin C. Loomis (Bert), Ben Stone-Zelman (Tommy), Riley Briggs (Beth), and Ella Briggs (Zuzu).
