Marsha Mason, Marc Vietor, Paxton Whitehead, et al. Set for Westport Country Playhouse’s The Circle
Westport Country Playhouse has announced complete casting for W. Somerset Maugham’s The Circle, to run June 7-25. Nicholas Martin will direct the production.
The play centers on Lord Champion-Cheney, who was abandoned by his wife, Lady Catherine, when she ran off with her lover to Italy. Meanwhile, his stuffy son Arnold discovers his bored wife is smitten with a handsome house guest.
The company will feature Gretchen Hall (Elizabeth), John Horton (Lord Porteous), Marsha Mason (Lady Catherine Champion-Cheney), James J. O’Neil (Butler), Bryce Pinkham (Edward Luton), Christina Rouner (Mrs. Shenstone), Marc Vietor (Arnold Champion-Cheney), and Paxton Whitehead (Lord Champion-Cheney).
The creative team will include Alexander Dodge (scenic design), Gabriel Berry (costume design), Philip Rosenberg (lighting design), and Drew Levy (sound design).
