Chalfant, Pourfar, Reddin, Ryan, et al. Set for Yale Rep’s Passion Play

Full cast and creative team have been announced for Yale Repertory Theatre’s production of Sarah Ruhl’s epic trilogy Passion Play, directed by Mark Wing-Davey, to run September 19-October 11, with an official opening on September 25.

The cast will feature Brendan Averett (Carpenter 1), Kathleen Chalfant (Queen Elizabeth/Adolf Hitler/Ronald Reagan), Austin Durant (Carpenter 2), Laura Esposito (Ensemble), Dieterich Gray (Machinist/German Officer/Young Director), Brian Hastert (Ensemble), Slate Holmgren (Ensemble), Polly Noonan (Village Idiot/Violet), Barret O’Brien (Ensemble), Susan Pourfar (Mary 1), Keith Reddin (Director), Luke Robertson (Ensemble), Thomas Jay Ryan (Visiting Friar/Visiting Englishman/VA), Felix Solis (Pontius), Joaquín Torres (John the Fisherman), and Nicole Wiesner (Mary 2).

The creative team will include scenic designer Allen Moyer, associate scenic designer Warren Karp, costume designer Ilona Somogyi, lighting designer Stephen Strawbridge, sound designer Charles Coes, and projections designer Ruppert Bohle.

The Yale Rep season will also include Lucinda Coxon’s Happy Now?, to be directed by Liz Diamond, will run October 24-November 15; Tom Stoppard’s Rough Crossing, to be directed by Mark Rucker, to run November 28-December 4; the East Coast premiere of Lydia by Octavio Solis, to be directed by Juliette Carrillo, to run February 6-February 28; the world premiere of Notes from Underground, an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel, March 20-April 11, co-written by director Robert Woodruff and star Bill Camp; and Charles S. Dutton starring in Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, April 24-May 23, to be directed by James Bundy.
