Albee, Champlin, Curtin, Dratch, Naughton, Turner, et al. Set for Westport Summer Season logo

Whitney Bashor, Donna Lynne Champlin, Lewis Cleale, Andrea Dora, Peter Reardon, and Shonn Wiley will star in the musical revue Hot 'n Cole: A Cole Porter Celebration!, to play Connecticut's Westport Country Playhouse, June 10-28. The production will be directed by Tony Award winner James Naughton.

The revue, to be devised by Mark Waldrop, David Armstrong, and Bruce W. Coyle, will feature 48 of Porter's standards, including "You're the Top," "Night and Day," "I Love Paris," and "Anything Goes." The show will feature choreography by Lisa Shriver and musical direction by Mark Berman.

Up next, Rachel Dratch will headline David Wiltse's comedy Scramble! (July 9-26), set in the world of a golf magazine. The cast will also include Tom Beckett, Candy Buckley, Colin McPhillamy, Jennifer Mudge, and Matthew Rauch, under the direction of Tracey Brigden. The mainstage season will continue with Mark Shanahan and Andrea Mauelalla in Karoline Leach's two-hander Tryst (August 5-23), to be directed by Joe Brancato.

In addition to those productions, the Playhouse will present such special events as The Classical Series, which will begin with Jane Curtin, Joanna Gleason, Kristine Nielsen and Chris Sarandon reading Noel Coward's Fallen Angels on June 16; while the Artists in Conversation series will feature Edward Albee and Kathleen Turner on June 23.

In other Westport news, Mark Lamos has replaced Paul Newman as the director of Of Mice and Men, which will begin performances in October. Newman has stepped down due to health reasons.
