Usman Ally will star in American Theater Company’s world premiere production of Ayad Akhtar’s Disgraced, which will be presented February 3-March 4, with an opening on February 6. The play replaces the previously announced K2.

Set in modern-day New York City, the play focuses on a Muslim-American lawyer who is rapidly moving up the corporate ladder while distancing himself from his cultural roots. At the moment of achieving his life-long ambitions, he falls victim to professional and personal betrayals. The play is produced by special arrangement with The Araca Group.

Ally played the role of V.P. in The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity both at Chicago’s Victory Gardens and New York’s Second Stage Theatre. Among his other credits are Mary Zimmerman’s production of The Arabian Nights, and the films Contagion and Just Like a Woman.
