The national tour of War Horse will play the Cadillac Palace Theatre, running December 18 – January 5. Bijan Sheibani has directed the production, based on Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris’ original staging.

Adapted by Nick Stafford from the novel by Michael Morpurgo, the play centers on the bond between a young man and his horse, Joey, and the events that happen after Joey is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France at the onset of World War I.

The Broadway production of War Horse, playing at Lincoln Center Theater, won Tony Awards for Best Play, Best Direction of a Play, Best Set Design for a Play, Best Scenic Design of a Play, Best Lighting Design of a Play, and Best Sound Design of a Play. In addition, Handspring Puppet Company received a Special Tony Award for their integral puppet design for the production.
