August: Osage County Original to Play Scrooge in Twist Your Dickens at the Goodman Theatre

The annual holiday spoof of ”A Christmas Carol” is written by a pair of scribes from ”The Colbert Report”.

Original August: Osage County cast member Francis Guinan will play Scrooge in The Second City's seasonal holiday satire Twist Your Dickens, set to play the Goodman Theatre December 4-27.

Joining Guinan in the company are Travis Turner as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Peter Gwinn as Jacob Marley, Sue Salvi as Tiny Tim, Beth Melewski as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Danielle Pinnock as Mrs. Cratchit, and Tim Sniffen as Bob Cratchit. Guinan, Gwinn, and Melewski repeat their work from the company's 2014 production.

Written by former Colbert Report scribes Peter Gwinn and Bobby Mort, Twist Your Dickens is a send-up of Charles Dickens' beloved story A Christmas Carol. described as "the story of Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and three outrageous ghosts — plus nods to other beloved yuletide specials." Matt Hovde serves as director of the production.
