Steppenwolf Theatre Company Announces 2008-2009 Season

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced its selections for its 2008-2009 season, which will explore the theme of the imagination. The Steppenwolf ensemble members confirmed for the upcoming season include Frank Galati, Francis Guinan, Jon Hill, Tina Landau, John Mahoney, Amy Morton, and Anna D. Shapiro.

The season will open with Kafka on the Shore September 18-November 16. Adapted for the stage and directed by Frank Galati, this production is based on the work by Haruki Murakami and will feature Guinan and Hill. The season will continue with The Seafarer by Conor McPherson (December 4-February 8), featuring Mahoney. Following The Seafarer will be Art by Yasmina Reza February 5-June 7, translated by Christopher Hampton.

The fourth play will be The Tempest by William Shakespeare (March 26-May 24), directed by Landau and featuring Galati. Closing the season will be Up by Bridget Carpenter, directed by Shapiro. In addition to the subscription season, Steppenwolf will also present a special engagement of Dublin Carol by Conor McPherson (November 13-December 21), directed by Morton.
