Profiles Theatre’s World-Premiere Presentation of Genius Set to Begin Performances
Profiles Theatre continues its 26th season with the presentation of Genius, by Kate Walbert, beginning tonight on the Alley Stage.
New friends Joel and Sara and Peter and Chelsea meet in Brooklyn for drinks and dinner. Joel, a formerly highly regarded painter and now a museum director who attends with his wife, Sara, is currently embroiled in a very public indiscretion. Peter and Chelsea, on the other hand, are a young up-and-coming filmmaking couple with a baby on the way. After an evening of discovery, deception, and wine, the two couples try to unravel the events of the night through the lens of their own uncertain futures.
Written by Kate Walbert and directed by artistic director Darrell W. Cox, the play features Robert Breuler as Joel, Stephanie Chavara as Charlotte, Cale Haupert as Peter, and Liz Zweifler as Sara
The creative team includes Mike Durst (light design), Raquel Adorno (costume design), Michelle Lilly (set design), Jeffrey Levin (sound design and original music), and Jennifer Kiehl (stage manager)
Performances will run through May 3.
