Goodman Theatre, Rivendell Ensemble Theatre to Offer Theater of War Performances

The Goodman Theatre and the Rivendell Theatre Ensemble will partner with Theater of War Productions, to present two readings of Sophocles’ Ajax and Philoktetes, at the Goodman’s Owen Theatre on January 18 and the National Veterans Art Museum on January 25.

Rivendell’s artistic director Tara Mallen will direct the performances, which will use translations by Bryan Doerries. Each performance will be followed by discussions with panelists from the local civilian and military communities.

Theater of War Productions partners with prominent theaters across the United States to present Theater of War for audiences of service members, veterans and civilians. Their offerings are meant to forge a common vocabulary for examining the impact of war on individuals, families and communities.
