Full Cast Set for Yussef El Guindi’s Our Enemies at Silk Road Theatre Project

Full casting has been announced for Yussef El Guindi’s Our Enemies: Lively Scenes of Love and Combat, to be presented by Silk Road Theatre Project at The Historic Chicago Temple Building, February 21-March 30. Patrizia Acerra will direct.

The play takes a darkly humorous and sensual look at identity, media-representation, love and lust in the Arab American community. Fueled by frustration over the limited Arab voices in the US media, a struggling writer, Gamal, engages in a prank campaign to shake up the system.

The cast will include Kareem Bandealy, Don Bender, James Elly, Susie Griffith, Monica Lopez, Vincent P. Mahler, and Andrew Navarro.

El Guindi’s previous plays include Back of the Throat, Ten Acrobats in an Amazing Leap of Faith, and Acts of Desire.
