Writers Theatre to Present Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf: A Parody

Chicago's Writers Theatre will continue its 2015-16 season with Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf: A Parody, running from April 27-July 31 with a press opening on May 4. Created by Tim Ryder and Tim Sniffen, the show is written by Sniffen and directed by Stuart Carden and Michael Halberstam.

Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf: A Parody is a comedy that is the result of a collaboration between Writers Theatre and Chicago's comedy theater the Second City. It asks the question, "What happens when the most recognizable characters from some of the greatest American plays of the 20th century suddenly find themselves sharing the same stage?"

The cast will feature Greg Matthew Anderson (George beginning July 19), Jennifer Engstrom (Blanche DuBois), Sean Fortunato (the Stage Manager), Marc Grapey (Willy Loman), John Hoogenakker (George through July 17), Michael Perez (Stanley Kowalski), and Karen Janes Woditsch (Martha).

The show's creative team includes Linda Buchanan (set design), Jenny Mannis (costume design), Jesse Klug (lighting design), and Josh Horvath (sound design).
