The Piccolo Spoleto Festival and Banner New York are to present the premiere of the new musical Derma at the Woolfe Street Playhouse in Charleston, SC from June 3-8, during the Piccolo Spoleto Festival. The musical features music and lyrics by Drew Brody, and a book by Jared Coseglia and director Cory Grant.

Derma explores the boundaries of life and love while telling the story of a young woman battling a mysterious illness that threatens to separate her from her family. The musical takes place between 1959 and 1985, and its original score reflects the musical styles of those decades.

The cast will be led by Megan Lewis (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark) and will also feature Alex Hoeffler (War Horse) and Jenny Rose Baker (Annie Get Your Gun). Julian Barnett will choreograph the production.

The Piccolo Spoleto Festival focuses primarily on artists of the Southeast region and transforms Charleston into an exhilarating celebration of performing, literary and visual arts.
