San Jose Stage Company's new production of Tennessee Williams's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof begins performances tonight and runs through March 3. Opening night is set for Saturday, February 9.

Allison F. Rich stars as Maggie the Cat and Rob August plays Brick in this production. The rest of the cast includes Randall King as Big Daddy, Judith Siebenthal as Big Mama, Will Springhorn Jr. as Gooper, Tanya Marie as Mae, Michael Bellino as Reverend Tooker, and Tim Fullerton as Doctor Baugh.

Directed by Lee Sankowich, the production team includes Garland Thompson, Jr. (production manager), Jack D. Myles (stage manager), Giulio Perrone (set designer), Ashley Garlick (costume designer), Michael Johnson (lighting designer), Steve Schoenbeck (sound designer and sound supervisor), Robert Pickering (master carpenter & scenic painter), Phyllis Garland (props master), and Kimily Conkle (dialect coach).

The Tennessee Williams classic is described as follows: "On a steamy night in Mississippi, a Southern family gather at their cotton plantation to celebrate Big Daddy's birthday. The scorching heat is almost as oppressive as the lies they tell. Brick and Maggie dance round the secrets and sexual tensions that threaten to destroy their marriage. With the future of the family at stake, which version of the truth is real — and which will win out?"
