The wire fox terrier had a walk-on role in the musical opposite star Andy Karl.
King, the wire fox terrier who won Best in Show at the 2019 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, made his Broadway debut in Pretty Woman: The Musical on Wednesday, February 13.
King, whose real name is King Arthur van Foliny Home, made a victory lap around the Big Apple before taking the stage at the Nederlander Theatre, having a steak lunch at Sardi's and visiting the Empire State Building as well. King is owned by Victor Malzoni Jr. of Brazil and handled by Gabriel Rangel.
Based on the popular 1990 movie starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, Pretty Woman features a book by original screenwriter J.F. Lawton and film director Garry Marshall, a score by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and direction and choreography by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell.
