Watch Sara Bareilles Say Goodbye to Waitress

Bareilles departed the Broadway company on March 11.

Sara Bareilles said farewell to the company of Waitress on Sunday, March 11, and when she departed, the cast serenaded her the only way they knew how. Check it out below.

Now in its second year on Broadway, Waitress features songs by Sara Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson, and direction by Diane Paulus. Inspired by Adrienne Shelly's 2007 motion picture, the story follows Jenna, an expert pie maker in a small town, who dreams of a way out of her loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town's new doctor may offer her a chance at a new life, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes to happiness. But Jenna must find the courage and strength within herself to rebuild her life.

Katharine McPhee is set to lead the production beginning April 10, with understudy Stephanie Torns taking on the role of Jenna in the interim.
