Ghostlight Records has announced that beginning today, May 19, customers who preorder the War Paint cast recording via Apple Music will immediately receive the album's second single "If I'd Been a Man," described as a "stirring duet" between the show's stars Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole. The song will be available in addition to the previously released single "Back on Top."

The original Broadway cast recording of the new musical will be made available in digital formats on Friday, May 26, with the CD version available online and in stores in mid-July.

Inspired by Lindy Woodhead's book War Paint, as well as by Ann Carol Grossman and Arnie Reisman's PBS documentary The Powder & the Glory, the show examines the ascent and rivalry of cosmetics entrepreneurs Helena Rubenstein (LuPone) and Elizabeth Arden (Ebersole), whose 50-year tug-of-war gave birth to an industry. Directed by Michael Greif and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, War Paint features a book by Doug Wright and score by Scott Frankel and Michael Korie.

The cast also includes Tony Award nominees John Dossett as Tommy Lewis (Arden's husband and chief marketing officer) and Douglas Sills as Harry Fleming (Rubinstein's clubby confidant and faithful ally).

War Paint opened at the Nederlander Theatre on April 6 and is nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Actress in a Musical (LuPone and Ebersole), Scenic Design (David Korins), and Costume Design (Catherine Zuber).
