Tony Winner Victoria Clark to Direct Short Film For Me & My Gal

It will be the first of five shorts in a series of films titled ”Ladies in Action” that are led, written, and directed by women.

Tony Award winner Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza) will direct a short film, For Me & My Gal, featuring a script by Jamie Buxton (A Chorus Line national tour), and starring Brittany Jeffery (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).

This is the first of five short films featured in the series Ladies in Action, an initiative spearheaded by NikoFrank Productions cofounders Maggie Politi and Spiro Marcos featuring films written by, directed by, and starring a woman in the lead role.

According to a press release, For Me & My Gal "reflects on music, and the unique ways it can stimulate memories and motivate us to follow our dreams."

The rest of the cast will feature playwright Glenn Alterman, Jordan Barrow (Sousatzka), Matt Cusack (Bandstand), Brooke Davis (Orange Is the New Black), Datus Puryear (After Midnight), Mya Rose Puryear (Sousatzka), and Michael Stiggers (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical).
