It Shoulda Been You star Sierra Boggess has been announced for the Broadway cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock. Boggess will star opposite Alex Brightman (Dewey Finn) in the role of stern school principal Rosalie Mullins, originated in the 2003 film by Joan Cusack. Performances are set to begin at the Winter Garden Theatre on November 9 in advance of a December 6 opening.

The project will continue Boggess' long-standing relationship with Webber material, having starred on Broadway as Christine Daee in The Phantom of the Opera and having reprised the role in his Phantom sequel Love Never Dies.

School of Rock tells the story of a down-on-his-luck wannabe rock star named Dewey Finn, who poses as a substitute teacher at a prep school and enlists his fifth-graders to form a rock group and conquer Battle of the Bands. The film was directed by Richard Linklater and written by Mike White.

Directed by Laurence Connor, the musical features a score by Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater and a book by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. The creative team also features choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter, scenic and costume design by Anna Louizos, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and sound design by Mick Potter. The Really Useful Group, Warner Music Group & Access Industries, the Shubert Organization, and the Nederlander Organization serve as producers, with Nina Lannan as executive producer.
