According to a report by The New York Times, Tony-winning actress and musician Lena Hall has launched an ambitious musical project for 2018 — a yearlong homage to her favorite musicians and bands called Obsessed.

Hall, best known for her Tony-winning performance as Yitzhak in the 2014 Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, has set plans to release a new EP album on the first Friday of every month in 2018, as well as a music video every week. Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight will produce the series of EPs, appropriately kicking off on Friday, January 5, with songs from Hedwig, the rock musical written by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask. She plans to release two music videos this Friday as well.

Hall's list of celebrated artists additionally includes Peter Gabriel, Elton John, Beck, Pink, Nirvana, Jack White, Radiohead, the Cranberries, Muse, David Bowie, and Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave.

Prior to breakout role in Hedwig, Hall appeared on Broadway in a number of musicals including Cats, 42nd Street, Dracula, Tarzan, and Kinky Boots. She reprised her Tony-winning performance in the national tour of Hedwig, taking on the title role at certain performances. In 2017, she starred in Lincoln Center's off-Broadway production of Sarah Ruhl's How to Transcend a Happy Marriage.
