Kerry Washington (Scandal) and Steven Pasquale (Junk) will return to Broadway in Christopher Demos-Brown's American Son, directed by Kenny Leon. Performances will begin at the Booth Theatre on Saturday, October 6, with opening night set for Sunday, November 4.

American Son explores tensions of race and class in America as an estranged interracial couple spends the evening in a police station after their teenage son's car has been found without him in it. The play received its world premiere at Barrington Stage Company in 2016.

Washington will play Kendra Ellis-Connor, with Pasquale as Scott Connor, and Eugene Lee (Gem of the Ocean) as Lieutenant John Stokes. Featured on the creative team are Derek McLane (scenic design), Dede Ayite (costume design), and Peter Fitzgerald (sound design). Additional cast and and creative team members will be announced soon.
