Producer Ken Davenport has announced that he has acquired the musical rights to the life of Joy Mangano, inventor of such products as the Miracle Mop, Huggable Hangers, My Little Steamer, and more. A creative team will be announced later.

In 1991, Mangano invented and launched the first-ever self-wringing Miracle Mop, and has since gone on to invent and launch hundreds of successful products across virtually every category. She was also one of the first in her field to use television to connect and communicate with her customers. Mangano currently appears on the Home Shopping Network approximately once a month, reaching more than 90 million homes live, and her products can be found in retail stores across the country. She was named one of Fast Company's "Most Creative People," and she and her products have been profiled by numerous national TV shows and magazines. She has also written a best-selling memoir, Inventing Joy: Dare to Build a Brave & Creative Life. Mangano was most recently the subject of David O. Russell's 2015 docudrama Joy.

Davenport is currently represented on Broadway by Once on This Island, The Play That Goes Wrong, and Kinky Boots.
