Broadway-Bound Jagged Little Pill Releases First Track

The Alanis Morissette song is performed by the musical’s world-premiere cast ahead of its Broadway opening this fall.

To whet our appetite for its Broadway opening this fall, the Alanis Morissette musical Jagged Little Pill has released its first track, a rendition of "All I Really Want" as performed by its world-premiere cast. Check out the single below.

Inspired by the album of the same title, Jagged Little Pill is described as follows: "The Healys appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family; but when the cracks beneath the surface begin to show, they must choose between maintaining the veneer, or defiantly facing truths about themselves and the world around them."

The new musical, which premiered last spring at the American Repertory Theatre, has a score by Morissette and Glen Ballard, with direction by Diane Paulus, a book by Diablo Cody, movement direction and choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and musical supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Tom Kitt. The production features additional music by Mike Farrell & Guy Sigsworth.

The A.R.T. cast featured Elizabeth Stanley as Mary Jane, Sean Allan Krill as Steve, newcomer Celia Gooding as Frankie, Derek Klena as Nick, and Lauren Patten as Jo. Ensemble members include Jane Bruce, John Cardoza, Antonio Cipriano, Kathryn Gallagher, Laurel Harris, Logan Hart, Max Kumangai, Soph Menas, Sean Montgomery, Nora Schell, Whitney Sprayberry, Kei Tsuruharatani, and Ebony Williams.
