Flashback Friday: In Freaky Friday, Heidi Blickenstaff Finds "A Way Back to Then"

Watch the new Disney Channel star sing from the beloved Broadway musical ”[title of show]”.

Disney's television version of the musical adaptation of Freaky Friday hits small screens today. The movie stars Cozi Zuehlsdorff as teenager Ellie, and Heidi Blickenstaff as her mother, Katherine. The plot follows the pair as they magically swap bodies and are forced to spend a day in each other's shoes.

With Freaky Friday, both Zuehlsdorff and Blickenstaff will now officially be among the ranks of Disney stars. But Blickenstaff has been a beloved Broadway celebrity since she made her debut in the original production of The Full Monty. To real theater devotees, however, she's best known for having originated (and lent her name to) the character of Heidi in [title of show] back in 2008. In the meta-musical, Heidi, a musical-theater actor, endures the ups and downs of creating a work of musical theater. Watch her sing the show's "A Way Back to Then," a ballad about simpler times, in the video below.
