Frozen's New Stars Take Their First Bows on Broadway
Ryann Redmond officially became Frozen's first female Olaf last night at the St. James Theatre.
Broadway welcomed a trio of new actors to Arendelle last night as Joe Carroll, Noah J. Ricketts, and Ryann Redmond took their opening-night bows in Frozen at the St. James Theatre.
Carroll, previously seen on Broadway in Rodgers Hammerstein's Cinderella and Bandstand (and in an episode of TM's Broadway First Dates), joins the cast as Hans alongside Ricketts (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) who takes on the role of Kristoff, and Ryann Redmond (Escape to Margaritaville, Bring It On The Musical), who becomes Frozen's first-ever female Olaf.
The current Broadway company also features original stars Caissie Levy and Patti Murin as Elsa and Anna, as well as Robert Creighton (Weselton), Kevin Del Aguila (Oaken), Timothy Hughes (Pabbie), and Andrew Pirozzi and Adam Jepsen sharing the role of Sven.
Based on the hit 2013 animated film, Frozen features music and lyrics by the creators of the film score, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and a book by Jennifer Lee, the film's screenwriter and codirector. Michael Grandage directs, with choreography by Rob Ashford.
