Bianca Marroquín will return to Broadway's Chicago one day earlier than expected. Marroquín will begin playing the role of Roxie Hart this afternoon, July 10, rather than tomorrow, July 11. With Marroquín alongside the Billy Flynn of Jaime Camil, the show will become the first Broadway musical ever to feature two Mexican-born performers in leading roles.

Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. The revival is directed by Walter Bobbie.

Jane the Virgin star Camil will be with the production through July 31 at the Ambassador Theatre. Marroquín will stay in the cast through August 21.

Chicago also currently stars Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
