The results are in, and Fun Home, the new Broadway musical based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel, walked away the evening's big winner. Aside from nabbing the Best Musical Award, the show took home accolades for Score, Book, Lead Actor, and Director. The show also earned the honor of becoming the first all-female creative team, led by composer Jeanine Tesori and lyricist/librettist Lisa Kron, to win the top prize.

In the Play categories, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time came out ahead, also with five wins for Best Play, Lead Actor, Director, Scenic Design, and Lighting Design. An American in Paris and Best Revival of a Musical winner The King and I also made strong showings with four awards each.

The latter also earned its star Kelli O'Hara a poignant first Tony win for her leading performance after five previous unrequited nominations.
