The Broadway musical Soul Doctor, about the life and times of folk-singing Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, might have ended its run, but the show's spirit lives on – on Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' 15th Carols for a Cure CD.

In the spirit of the show, Eric Anderson, who played Rabbi Shlomo, and his castmates contributed to the album a Broadway version of Adam Sandler's classic "The Chanukah Song," substituting the names of Hollywood's most famous Jews for Broadway's.

How could we not love a tune with a lyric like "The composer of Newsies and the lyricist of Ragtime were seen in shul davening with Stephen Sondheim"? Take a listen to Soul Doctor's version of "The Chanukah Song" below, and purchase your copy of Carols for a Cure, Vol. 15, by clicking here.
