Dan Hurlin, Universes, and More Set for Emerging America Festival

The American Repertory Theater, Huntington Theatre Company, and the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston have joined forces to create the annual Emerging America festival, which will launch May 14-16 at all three artistic homes throughout the weekend: the A.R.T. @ OBERON, the Huntington’s Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA, and the ICA.

The festival is devoted to supporting and launching new voices in American theater, and will bring some of the country’s most promising performers, writers, companies and directors to Boston.

Among the works to be presented are Dan Hurlin’s Disfarmer; a double bill of Amy Herzog’s Love Song in Two Voices and Steven Levenson’s Seven Minutes in Heaven; David Hanbury and Michael Goldfried’ Mrs. Smith Presents featuring Hanbury and Ryan Landry; Universes’Live from the Edge; The TEAM’s Particularly in the Heartland ; Los Angeles-based performance collective My Barbarian’s Post-Living Ante-Action Theater (Club Remix); A.R.T.’s The Donkey Show; Witness Relocation’s Vicious Dogs on Premises; and Salvatore LaRussa Dance Theatre’s Decode.
