Stronger Than The Wind begins performances tonight at New Repertory Theatre at Arsenal Center for the Arts. The story centers on a woman who has just given birth to twins. However, due to a hospital error, one of her sons, Aidan is left fighting for his life. Alice struggles to keep her family together in light of this tragedy, and the play examines how she does so through anger, humor, and tears. This true story of one family’s ongoing struggle with medical trauma and special needs points people toward love even in the darkest of times.

The show is written and performed by Alice Manning.

"It is with great pleasure that we celebrate the remarkable work of women theatre-makers in three diverse one-woman performances," says artistic director Jim Petosa. "The second in this series is a humorous and touching work from playwright and performer Alice Manning, based on the true story of her young son’s medical challenges shortly after his birth. Alice’s tale of adversity is told with remarkable wit and charm, and we are pleased to include it in our second annual Next Rep Black Box Festival."

The creative team includes Kayleigha Zawacki (light design), Alexander Grover (set design), Andrew Duncan Will (sound design), and Anna Burnham (stage manager).

Performances will run through April 5.
