Picasso at the Lapin Agile to Replace Three Sisters at New Rep

New Repertory Theatre’s planned production of Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters will be replaced by Picasso at the Lapin Agile, April 19-May 10, 2009. Daniel Gidron will direct this replacement production.

Because of the upcoming transitional phase at the theater, the New Rep has decided to close their current season with a modern production that focuses on the future. Steve Martin’s play is set at the Lapin Agile in Montmartre, Paris where Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso meet and have a lengthy debate about the value of genius and talent. Casting will be announced at a later date.
