Good begins performances tonight at New Repertory Theatre at Arsenal Center for the Arts.

In 1930s Germany, Professor John Halder writes a novel about compassionate euthanasia, drawing the attention of the Nazi Party. Despite his own misgivings and the pleadings of his Jewish friend Maurice, John is tempted by the changing world around him. Jim Petosa directs C.P. Taylor's expressionistic play with music.

Michael Kaye stars as John. He is joined by Judith Chaffee (Mother), Benjamin Evett (Eichmann, Bouller), Jesse Garlick (Doctor, Dispatch Rider), Lily Linke (Elizabeth, Sister), Will Madden (Freddie), Christine Power (Helen), Alex Schneps (Bok, Hitler), Tim Spears (Maurice), Casey Tucket (Anne).

"The play that most typifies our 2016-2017 season this year is C.P. Taylor’s Good," says Petosa. "Presented in the weeks leading up to the 2016 presidential election, Good is a politically potent work that allows audiences to watch as one man is drawn into the nationalist furor that erupted in Germany during the 1930s. This play continues to be remarkably resonant today as issues of demagoguery emanate from major political factions in the United States and around the world."

The production team includes JiYoung Han (scenic designer), Megan Mills (costume designer), Theona White (costume designer), Bridget Doyle (lighting designer), Aubrey Dube (sound designer), and Julie Zumsteg (assistant sound designer), Jaclyn Fulton (stage manager), Becca Freifeld (assistant stage manager), and Jeremy Ohringer (assistant director).
