Maria Aitken, David Cromer, Michael Wilson to Direct for Huntington’s 2012-2013 Season

Huntington Theatre Company has announced plans for its upcoming 2012-2013 season.
Kicking off the season will be David Lindsay-Abaire’s play about how twists of fate determine our path Good People (September 14-October 14), directed by Kate Whoriskey. As the season continues, Michael Wilson will direct Christopher Shinn’s political drama Now or Later (October 12-November 10). Maria Aitken will direct Betrayal (November 9-December 9) by Harold Pinter, an exploration of the complexities of love and guilt. During the holiday season, Huntington will present David Cromer’s critically acclaimed new version of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, in which Cromer will also play the Stage Manager (December 7-January 13).
Next, Christopher McElroen will direct a co-production with the Studio Theatre of Oren Jacoby’s theatrical adaptation of Invisible Man (January 4-February 3) by Ralph Ellison, the story of an idealistic young African-American man searching for identity. In the spring, the theater will present Lorraine Hansberry’s classic drama about a struggling African-American family A Raisin in the Sun (March 8-April 7), directed by Liesl Tommy. Boston favorite Karen MacDonald will be featured in the world premiere of Ryan Landry’s comedic adaptation of Fritz Lang’s film noir masterpiece M (March 29-April 27). Caitlin Lowans will direct. The final production of the season will be Gina Gionfriddo new comedy about family, career, and romance Rapture, Blister, Burn (May 24-June 22), directed by artistic director Peter DuBois.
