Johanna Day to Star in Huntington Theatre Company’s Good People

Good People will kick off Huntington Theatre Company’s 31st season. The production, directed by Kate Whoriskey, will run September 14-October 14 at the Avenue of the Arts/Boston University Theatre.

This compelling, funny story is written by Pulitzer Prize Winner and Boston native David Lindsay-Abaire and will star Johanna Day as Margaret Walsh. The cast also includes Nancy E. Carroll (Dottie), Rachael Holmes (Kate), Michael Laurence (Mike), Karen MacDonald (Jean), and Nick Westrate (Stevie).

Good People takes place in South Boston where this month’s paycheck covers last month’s bills and bingo is a night on the town. Scrambling to make ends meet for herself and her developmentally disabled adult daughter, single-mom Margie Walsh looks up an old flame – now a fertility doctor living in Chestnut Hill with his young wife – hoping he’ll help her make a fresh start.
