Excerpts from Dave Malloy's new musical Moby-Dick will be presented at New York's American Museum of Natural History for two nights this summer. The July 26 and 27 presentations will take place in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life under the big blue whale, featuring a cast of 11 and a live seven-piece orchestra.

Rachel Chavkin, who will stage the full production, will direct these presentations. The 90-minute performance will also feature a Q&A with the creative team and company.

Moby-Dick, based on Herman Melville's novel, will premiere December 3-January 12, 2020, at Cambridge's American Repertory Theater. The show features music, lyrics, book, and orchestrations by Malloy, and it is developed with and directed by his Great Comet collaborator Chavkin.
