Obie Award-winner David Drake will debut a new solo show, Tawny, Tell Me True for a run starting June 17 at the Crown and Anchor in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The production will run Sunday evenings at 10pm through September 2 in the Crown Cabaret Room.

Written by and starring Drake as his newest creation, disco era one-hit wonder Tawny Heatherton, Tawny, Tell Me True takes audiences on a journey through Tawny’s life as a road performer, her short stint on Hee-Haw, her headline-grabbing turn as the “Pyro Girl of Long Island,” and her abduction by aliens. The production features musical direction by John Thomas.

Drake is best known for his solo show, The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me, and has appeared in Vampire Lesbians of Sodom Off-Broadway, and was recently one of the directors for Taylor Mac’s The Lily’s Revenge. His newest theatrical creation, Tawny Heatherton, performed a sold-out holiday show in Provincetown last Christmas, and made her New York City debut in February at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.
