David Cromer will once again direct Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, which will be presented by Huntington Theatre Company in the Roberts Studio Theatre at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA, December 7, 2012 – January 13, 2013.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the play is set in 1901 Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, as teenagers George and Emily fall in love, marry, and live out their lives as one small New England town which becomes a microcosm of every day life.

Cromer’s staging of the play won him two 2009 Lucille Lortel Awards for Best Revival and Direction for its Off-Broadway production at the Barrow Street Theatre, which in turn had followed acclaimed runs by The Hypocrites in Chicago. His production of the play is currently playing at The Broad Stage in Los Angeles, starring Helen Hunt.

Cromer directed the recent Broadway revivals of The House of Blue Leaves and Brighton Beach Memoirs, and has numerous other credits Off-Broadway and in Chicago. Among his many awards is a 2010 MacArthur Fellowship, often referred to as the “Genius” grant.
