Pedro Pascal to Star in Death and the Maiden for Commonwealth Shakespeare Company

The ”Game of Thrones” and ”Narcos” star will take on Ariel Dorfman’s drama.

Boston's Commonwealth Shakespeare Company has announced its 2016 season and event schedule, which marks the company's 20th anniversary.

The season kicks off with a staged reading of Shakespeare's Othello, presented in March 2016 at the Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College. Part of the Shakespeare & Leadership series, the event will be performed by professional actors alongside business leaders from the corporate world.

In April 2016, Ariel Dorfman's Death and the Maiden will be performed as part of the script-in-hand, Theatre in the Rough series. Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) will star. May 4-10 will see a production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

In July and August, the company will present its annual free Shakespeare on the Common series. This year's selection of Love's Labour's Lost will be directed by Steven Maler.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is dedicated to bringing the works of William Shakespeare in vital and contemporary productions to the people of Boston and to exploring Shakespeare’s plays with the Boston community in innovative and creative ways.
