The new musical Tuck Everlasting will have its pre-Broadway world premiere at Boston’s Citi Performing Arts Center Colonial Theatre in June 2013. Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph the production. Broadway production details, design team and casting will be announced shortly.

The show, based on the novel by Natalie Babbit, features a book by Tony Award nominee Claudia Shear, music by Chris Miller, and lyrics by Nathan Tysen.

The story focuses on Winnie Foster, whose world has been safely contained behind the picket fence that surrounds the house she shares with her mother and grandmother. Yearning to break free, Winnie runs deep into the woods behind their house where she discovers the Tuck family and the secret they’ve been keeping.

Nicholaw is currently represented on Broadway by The Book of Mormon. Shear’s plays include Dirty Blonde and Restoration. Miller and Tysen are best known for writing the score for The Burnt Part Boys.
