Exposed, a new play by Robert Brustein, founding director of Yale Repertory Theatre and American Repertory Theatre, starts performances tonight at the Boston Center for the Arts.

In an effort to avoid prosecution for illegal gambling casinos, Texas billionaire Seymour Sackeroff puts Christian televangelist Dick Cockburn on the path to the White House. With the help of Sackeroff’s mother Hortense, the evangelical hypocrite may just get in. Standing in the way is Sackeroff’s wife Candy, his gay son Ronald, and his beautiful daughter, Caroline. When Sackeroff offers to use Caroline as the ultimate bargaining chip, he sets off a serious of explosive events that have unforeseen consequences.

Brustein’s play is coproduced with the Boston Center for American Performance and is directed by Steven Bogart. The cast comprises Remo Airaldi, Scott Barrow, Annabelle Cousins, Abby Goldfarb, Jeremiah Kissel, Annette Miller, Tess Wenger, and Michale Hammond.

Performances will run through December 18.
