Boston Playwrights’ Theatre Announces Cast for The River Was Whiskey

Kenard Jackson, Jim Loutzenhiser, Sarah Newhouse and Alex Pollock will star in The Boston Playwrights’ Theatre’s production of Will Fancher’s play, The River Was Whiskey, to run October 27-November 20. James A. Petosa will direct.

The River Was Whiskey is set inside the racial tensions of 1940’s Mississippi. In collaboration with sound designer David Wilson, Tennessee-native Fancher has also produced original music for the Southern Gothic ghost story.

Fancher is a recent graduate of Boston University with an MFA in Creative Writing/Playwriting. His writing has been recognized by the Kennedy Center (Rosa Parks Playwriting Award) and the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Conference. His one-act and full-length plays have been showcased in several national and regional venues, such as the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, WordBRIDGE Playwrights Laboratory, Primary Stages, and the Alliance Theatre.
