Boston Children's Theatre Presents Pinkalicious The Musical

Boston Children's Theatre begins performances of Pinkalicious today at the Cambridge YMCA Theatre. Based on the popular children's book, Pinkalicious centers on a girl who loves the color pink and wants everything around her to be pink as well. When this obsession goes a little too far, she and her brother have to seek a cure using the color green.

Directed by Mary Guaraldi, the musical showcases choreography by Nicole Soriano and musical direction by David Lien and Austin Davy. The cast features a host of students from various local communities, including Kira Shannon from Brookline, Sloane Zwanger from Cambridge, Francesca Seac from Malden, Magarget McFadden from Manchester, Maggie Budzyna from Newburyport, Caraline Shaheen from Portsmouth, Hanna Morrisse from Rye, Sydney Newcomb from Stoneham, Owen Sherrin from Sudbury, Max Roberts from Wakefield, Cashmere Moore from Waltham, and Haven Pereira from Winthrop.

"We are thrilled to bring this incredibly popular musical back to our audiences," said Burgess Clark, BCT executive artistic director. "The response last season was overwhelming. The reaction to this musical is a true testament to the power and influence of reading in children's lives. Seeing our young audience's faces light up when their favorite book characters come to life on stage is priceless. We knew we had to bring this particular show back."

The musical features music by John Gregor, lyrics by John Gregor, Elizabeth Kann, and Victoria Kann, and book by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann.

Performances will run through February 22.
