Alan Cumming to Receive Theater Offensive’s Out on the Edge Award

Alan Cumming will be honored with the Out on the Edge Award at Theater Offensive’s climACTS…Under a Big Top to be held on April 27 at the Big Apple Circus tents in Boston City Hall Plaza. The event will raise funds for the company’s ongoing programs.

The evening will begin with a cocktail that will feature circus sideshows prior to the Big Top performance, which will feature Joyce Kulhawik as ringmaster and aerialist Michael Lamphear and contortionist Viktoria Grimmy. The event inside the tent will also feature the presentation of the award to Cumming. The evening will conclude with a live auction, dessert and dancing, featuring P-Town’s DJ Maryalice.

Cumming won the Tony Award for Cabaret. He will soon be seen on the big screen in Julie Taymor’s adaptation of The Tempest and is slated to play the Green Goblin in the upcoming Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark, to be directed by Taymor. In addition, it was recently announced that Cumming would become a series regular on CBS’ The Good Wife.
