Actors’ Shakespeare Project will open its 10th season with a production of Shakespeare’s tragic love story Romeo & Juliet. Performances are set to begin on October 2 at Boston’s Strand Theatre, in advance of an October 5 opening, and will run through November 3.

ASP Resident Acting Company member Bobbie Steinbach and ASP Artistic Director Allyn Burrows are directing the production, which will offer both traditional proscenium seating and onstage seating in order to create an immersive theatrical experience. “The audience will also represent those who witness tragic events like these on an ongoing basis…the never-ending cycle,” said Burrows, commenting on the seating arrangement.

The cast features Julie Ann Earls as Juliet, Jason Bowen as Romeo, Ken Baltin as Capulet, Paige Clark as Benvolio, Miranda Craigwell as Lady Capulet, Paula Langton as Nurse, Antonio Ocampo-Guzman as Friar Lawrence, Omar Robinson as Tybalt, Ben Rosenblatt as Paris and Prince, and Maurice Emmanuel Parent as Mercutio and Apothecary.

The creative team also includes Janie E. Howland (scenic designer), Jen Rock (lighting designer), Kathleen Doyle (costume and mask designer), Susan Dibble (choreographer), Arshan Gailus (sound designer), Trevor Olds (violence designer), and Annie Thompson (vocal coach).
