Lewis Black, Darrell Hammond, and More Offer Special Lineup for Williamstown Season
Benjamin Scheuer will perform his off-Broadway solo show The Lion in concert.
Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced a lineup of special events joining its 2015 season.
The summer programming will include Paradise Lew (July 13, Main Stage), an evening of stand-up with Williamstown veteran Lewis Black; a one-night-only concert performance of Benjamin Scheuer's off-Broadway hit The Lion (July 19, Nikos Stage); the return of the stripped-down musical comedy duo The Skivvies (July 26 and 27); The Darrell Hammond Project (August 10, Main Stage), with Saturday Night Live impersonation icon Darrell Hammond; the Williamstown debut of the musical improv show Baby Wants Candy (August 20-22); and this summer's Free Theatre production, Song for a Future Generation (July 15-18 and 21-24).
As previously announced, WTF's Main Stage season will include William Inge's Off the Main Road, directed by Evan Cabnet and featuring Kyra Sedgwick in her Festival debut; the world premiere of Dominique Morisseau's Paradise Blue, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson; and six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald and Tony nominee Will Swenson in Eugene O'Neill's A Moon for the Misbegotten, directed by Gordon Edelstein.
The Nikos Stage will also house the world premiere of Daniel Goldfarb's Legacy, directed by Oliver Butler; the American premiere of Carey Perloff's Kinship, directed by Jo Bonney; the world premiere of Daniel Goldstein and Michael Friedman's new musical Unknown Soldier, directed by Trip Cullman; and the American premiere of two British plays, Chewing Gum Dreams and An Intervention.
