Stephen Pasquale, currently in rehearsals for the Playwrights Horizons off-Broadway production of the new musical Far From Heaven, will star in the Williamstown Theatre Festival world premiere of the new Jason Robert Brown-Marsha Norman musical, The Bridges of Madison County, this summer. Directed by Bartlett Sher, the production runs on the Main Stage from August 1-18.

Pasquale will take on the role of Robert Kincaid, a National Geographic photographer who begins an affair with a married but lonely Italian émigré living in 1960s Iowa. With a score by Brown (The Last Five Years) and a book by Norman (The Color Purple), The Bridges of Madison County is inspired by the acclaimed novel by Robert James Waller. Further casting will be announced in the future.

Additionally, the festival has announced a one-night-only staged reading of the new play Scott and Zelda by Kay Cattarula, to take place on July 1. Maria Tucci directs the Jazz Age drama about the relationship between F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, which will star Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart) and Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson (The Elephant Man).
