Robert Falls will direct Jon Robin Baitz’s two-person drama, Three Hotels, which will now kick off the Williamstown Theatre Festival’s Main Stage season, June 29-July 24. The production replaces the previously announced You Can’t Take It With You.

In the play, Ken Hoyle is an ambitious hatchet man for a multinational company that sells defective baby formula in developing African countries. His wife Barbara advises other young executive wives on life in the third world. Their days as idealistic Peace Corps volunteers are far behind them – physically and metaphorically – and the succession of moral compromises has taken its toll.

Newly announced programming at WTF will also include Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, presented as a Free Theatre production, outdoors at Poker Flats Field (July 13-22), directed by Johanna McKeon; a late night cabaret series hosted by comedian Lewis Black (July 7-August 6); and theatre artist Phil Soltanoff, who will be in residence at the 2011 Festival to create an outdoor performance piece about public space.
