Jenny Gersten to Succeed Nicholas Martin as Artistic Director of Williamstown Theater Festival

Jenny Gersten has been named the new artistic director of Williamstown Theater Festival. She will succeed Nicholas Martin in this position after his departure at the end of the 2010 summer season.
Gersten is currently associate producer at the Public Theater. Prior to joining The Public, she was the Artistic Director of Naked Angels. Her relationship with Williamstown Theater Festival dates to 1996 when she became the theater’s associate producer, a position which she held until 2004.
In addition to her work as a producer, Gersten has reviewed grants for Theatre Communications Group and for the Department of Cultural Affairs in New York City,, been a Special Events consultant for the Atlantic Theater Company, led workshops for the Off-Broadway service organization ART/NY, guest lectured at Yale and taught self-producing to young directors and actors at NYU.
