Jayne Atkinson, Jack Gilpin, James Naughton Set for Berkshire Theatre Group Season

Berkshire Theatre Group has announced programming for Summer 2012, which will include a full assortment of theatrical productions, concerts, comedy, Friday Series play readings, Musical Mondays, Made in the Berkshires and more.

Tony nominee Jayne Atkinson will star as Edith Bolling Wilson in the world premiere of Edith, by Kelly Masterson (July 31-August 11). The production will also feature Jack Gilpin as President Woodrow Wilson and Michel Gill as Vice President Marshall.

Two-time Tony Award winner James Naughton will direct the world premiere of David Epstein’s Brace Yourself (August 14-25).

Theatrical highlights will also include the musical The Puppetmaster of Lodz, translated by Sara O’Connor and directed by Brian Roff (June 21-July 7 and September 13-October 7); A Chorus Line, directed by Eric Hill and choreographed by Gerry McIntyre (July 2-6); A Class Act, a tribute to Edward Kleban, directed by Robert Moss; Herb Gardner’s A Thousand Clowns, directed by Kyle Fabel (July 16-28); Pinocchio, adapted by E. Gray Simons III, directed by Eric Hill and E. Gray Simons III (July 25-August 11); the world premiere of William Donnelly’s Homestead Crossing (August 7-September 1), directed by Kyle Fabel; We Are Women: A Bernstein Cabaret, conceived by Michael Barrett & Jamie Bernstein and narrated by Bernstein (August 9-12); the classic musical Oliver!, directed by Travis G. Daly (September 7-9)
