Liberty Cogen, Bryant Smith, Craig Waldrip Set for Actor’s Express Kiss of the Spider Woman

The Actor’s Express in Atlanta will begin its 25th anniversary season with the multiple Tony Award-winning show Kiss of the Spider Woman. Directed by Freddie Ashley, performances will run August 23-October 7.

Based on the original novel by Manual Puig, Kiss of the Spider Woman tells the story of Valentin, a Marxist revolutionary, and Molina, a gay window dresser, who develop an uneasy friendship rooted in surviving life in a Latin American prison. The book is written by Terrence McNally with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb, respectively.

The show features Liberty Cogen as Aurora/Spider Woman, Bryant Smith as Valentin, and Craig Waldrip as Molina. The cast also includes John Benzinger, Matthew Busch, Andrew Faber, Joshua Gilyard, Patty Guenther, Cody Jarrell, Jason-Jamal Ligon, Paige Mattox, Anthony Owen, Christopher Repotski, and Jeremy Varner.
